10 years ago, email marketing was the exclusive preserve of large companies with deep pockets (often paying equally large marketing agencies to manage their email campaigns for them).

Then, with the release of self service email tools such as MailChimp and Constant Contact, all of a sudden small businesses were doing it for themselves (cue Aretha Franklin montage).

Today, email marketing is ubiquitous across small and medium sized businesses, which means you're not alone in using Mail Chimp.  In fact, a study by Marketing profs found that 98% of small businesses now use email as their main marketing communications channel.

Now, don't get us wrong - we love MailChimp (though we can't say the same for a lot of other solutions), but have you ever noticed that email marketing only gets you so far?  

So ask yourself:

  • Does MailChimp let you know when your subscribers are visting your website in real time, and tell you what pages they're viewing, videos they're watching, or what brochures they've downloaded?
  • Are you able to use this insight to personalise your website content and email communications
  • Does MailChimp score your leads, so that the your sales team can prioitise their sales calls, and increase their converstion rates?

Thought not.
